The Secret Fork

A few weekends ago I had the wonderful opportunity of attending the second installment of The Secret Fork, a members only underground pop-up marketplace. In the back of nondescript building in a small Los Angeles neighborhood was a bustling crowd of people, sampling and enjoying artisanal goods from a variety of vendors including homemade marshmallows, jalapeno-infused jams, local cheeses and freshly roasted coffee, to name a few.

Their mission is to provide a space where local chefs, food artisans, vintners, preservers and urban farmers can share their products and talents with the public. Each month they set up shop in a new location, only released to its members the day prior. I left with a basket full of a little bit of everything and am eagerly waiting to see where they pop up next.

What a fabulously inspiring idea! LA seems to have it all going on. Amazing ideas to filter down to the East Midlands in the UK.
