The Pig Hotel

Nestled in the middle of the New Forest in Brockenhurst, The Pig is a country hotel that opened this past November by the co-founder of the Hotel Du Vin chain. The hotel restaurant is the focal point of one’s stay, with menus that change daily to reflect the changing of seasons and the regional produce. Along with a quaint hotel (there are only 26 rooms in total), the property houses a kitchen garden, a greenhouse and a pig farm that guests are welcome to wander around with a pair of Hunter wellies provided by the staff.

Visitors also have the option of joining the hotel forager on a hunt to pick their own mushrooms, nuts and berries for the chef to incorporate into their dinner that evening. From a drawing room where guests can play board games to strolls through the surrounding forest filled with wild ponies and a front field to enjoy games of croquet, The Pig evokes a feeling of escaping to a remote country home and being a house guest of the ultimate host.

Thanks Rosa!

I am in LOVE with this place! My fiance used to truffle hunt as a young boy so when I showed this to him and told him that we would get to hunt and gather, he wanted to start planning a trip there right away!
