Rabbithole, Williamsburg NY

Intention is the name of the game with this delightful neighborhood cafe in Williamsburg. Owner of Rabbithole, Lawrence Elliot set his sights on creating a sense of place in every detail of his business. Its wide planked wood floors, vintage decor, and backyard garden manages to create a “stay-all-day” feel.

All their pastries are created in their own bakery without any pre-made products. Professionals line up every morning to delight in these baked goods as well as their specifically chosen coffee, brewed to their own specifications. At lunch fans come in for simple sandwiches or homemade soups. To encourage genuine human connection, laptops are off-limits in the cafe. A refreshing business move that is rarely seen in this day and age. Open all day, The Rabbithole is chock-full of good eats and interesting things to look at - a winning combination for any cafe.

Oh, it's so nice to see this place featured here. I used to go to a great little yarn shop called the Yarn Tree that was across the street and would often stop by the Rabbithole for coffee and a cookie. Great atmosphere and delicious food. I had a winter dinner there once and a summer brunch. Must go back soon.

WRONG:
CHALK-FULL

RIGHT:
CHOCK-FULL, CHUCK-FULL

Originally a person or thing stuffed to the point of choking was “choke-full.” In modern speech this expression has become “chock-full,” or in less formal American English, “chuck-full.” Chalk has nothing to do with it.

Oh I entered this place with a couple of friends randomly last year after crossing the Williamsburg bridge in the pouring rain...
Just what we needed to warm up!
