Petersham Nurseries

I currently live in London in the green Wimbledon Park area. On my days off, I sometimes enjoy walking through Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park, and I once stumbled upon the beautiful Petersham Nurseries, a paradise of flowers, decor and homeware objects, and a retired place where to enjoy a meal or a simple tea and cake surrounded by plants and herbs. The style is shabby chic at times, but never cheesy, and the range of objects in the shop is well conceived, with influences from all over the world.

The owners, an Italian man and an Australian lady, transformed the place into a very classy yet un-fussy location, well known for the atmosphere and the food — chef Malouf's exotic/fusion cuisine is quite appreciated. All in all, a great spot for small gatherings in a nice, relaxing, put-together and well-thought environment, far from the madding crowd of the city.
