Kinfolk Dinner: Chicago, IL

On a brisk night in late November at the darling Floriole Café & Bakery in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, a few dozen folks from all walks of life gathered to enjoy good food and good company.

The stunning spread, prepared by Floriole owner Sandra Holl, featured Midwest-inspired foods with a sophisticated flair. During dinner, the comforting aroma of roasted pork loin with charred rosemary cut fresh from the rooftop herb garden permeated the space. Guests sipped red wine, shared stories and fostered friendships. Following a delightful three-course meal, roasted coffee filled the air as everyone continued conversations over tarts, pies, cookies and confections.

Throughout the joyful evening, there was a profound sense of belonging among guests and artisans. A sense they undoubtedly carried with them long after exchanging farewells.
