Good Place to Gather: The Smile, NY

The Smile is a charming restaurant and cafe hybrid in a basement space on Bond St, New York. Cozy and quirky with dark grained wood and dime lighting, they've clearly hit the mark with ambiance and vibe. The exposed brick and timber makes it feel like a small cabin within the bustling city.

Oh so lovely. I can't wait to visit The Smile!
This is truly a charming place. Looks very silent, too.

Ah, The Smile may look quiet, but it never is! It's always packed with reality tv celebs and your favorite fashion bloggers. Luckily, you're a little braver after a glass of wine, and The Smile's chill as hell atmosphere lends to their own relaxation, so most of them are great when you hit them up for a conversation.

Funny enough, I bought a Winter 2009 issue of ME MAGAZINE when I was in NY for the holidays, and it was all about Melia Marden, the chef at the Smile. It was such a nice issue, I really wished I had had the time to go to the restaurant. Glad to see it featured here.

We stumbled upon the Smile this past November while looking for a place for lunch.
It indeed made us smile.
