Opened just last September by Garrett Colton, Standard Goods is a small shop on L.A.’s Beverly Boulevard that houses a highly curated selection of furniture, books, artwork, clothing, accessories and artisan food. From its inception, he aimed for the shop to have something for everyone, whether that be the price point or the subject matter. Colton, like his shop, doesn’t take himself too seriously, and brings vendors on board that align with his manifesto. Some of them are local friends, some are family-owned companies, and some are vintage finds from his time spent hunting estate sales around the country. True to its name, the store carries a combination of new and old items that Colton considers to be “the standard.” For him, this means things that are basic, unfussy, and timeless.
