Ceviche & Co.

Inspired by their trip to Cartagena, Colombia, Jamie Wheeler & Tehra Thorp of Ceviche & Co., hosted two architects, a Ph.D. candidate, three actors, two editors, and a writer to join in on some ceviche and cocktails; the crowd as eclectic as the population of their neighborhood, Silver Lake.

After one particularly hot day of exploring the old city (and a thwarted mugging) they settled into seats at a restaurant so tiny, the tables took rest in the cobblestone streets of Cartagena. The restaurant’s name simply, La Cevicheria offered a lot more than it suggested. Colombia’s unique cuisine being a mash-up of Spanish, West African, Caribbean & Latin dishes everything from fried plantains to paella was offered; but they came for the ceviche. After the first cold bite, Jamie said, “We should start something like this in LA,” and with that, an idea was hatched.

This is a great concept. What better way to while away the hours than with ceviche and cocktails? Bueno.
