Beaver Brook

Ayoung group of New York friends staked out a spot to build a cabin in Beaver Brook, a remote location in the woods near Yulan. They spend their summers and winters there, bonding over bonfires, enjoying dutch-oven dinners, and working together to build everything from a wood fired tub to a studio space, using the natural resources around them. They’ve documented the process (and their beautiful surroundings) here.

This is simply the dream, isn't it?
Our world would be a better place if we all had something to work and sweat for like this.

It's also nice to have a bundle of cash to finance that "dream."

Not sure if Scott Newkirk sold his cabin to those guys or if they're just friends, but it is indeed one and the same as Beaver Brook.

To clear up any confusion, the property was purchased from Scott in 2010, dubbed Beaver Brook, and expanded in both acreage and facilities.
